Many of Strayer University's students choose to take their courses online because the program is rigorous, yet flexible and convenient for working adults. Here are just some of the many benefits of learning online at Strayer University.

Online academics prepare you for real world challenges. Just like our campus classes, all of our online courses give you both theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure your success in the real world. You’ll learn from experienced faculty who not only understand the concept of each discipline, but also bring the realities of today’s business environment to the classroom. In addition, our instructors have been specially trained to facilitate a stimulating and productive online learning experience. Click here to see the programs we offer online.

Flexible schedules let you take your classes at a set time, or when it’s convenient for you. We know that the key to returning to school is having choices. That’s why we offer two online class formats – synchronous and asynchronous:

  • In synchronous classes, students and instructors get together online at the same, preset time each week. This format is very much like a campus classroom experience and requires participation at established hours, usually during evenings or weekends. With this format, you’ll hear live audio from the professor, supported by a live “virtual blackboard”. You can even “raise your hand” to ask questions or interact with your professor and classmates in real time, via text messaging.
  • In asynchronous classes, students participate whenever it works for them. This gives you maximum scheduling flexibility to attend classes any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You’ll access recorded audio lectures, video presentations and supporting instructional materials via the Internet. You will also have the option to participate in real-time chats, permitting more interaction among the students.

Technically speaking, it’s simple to take online classes. All you need to attend online classes at Strayer University is a computer and access to the Internet. All of the software you will need is available free from our Web site or through Web links. Strayer University also offers online tech support so that you don’t have to end your connection if you ever need help.
