Students holding an F-1 visa who wish to transfer to Strayer University from another school must complete the admissions process within 60 days of program completion, or within 60 days of finishing their Optional Practical Training at their previous institution.

Students who do not follow the above process will be required to apply for reinstatement with the USCIS along with their transfer paperwork. If you fail to complete the transfer process within the first two weeks after your classes begin at Strayer University, you risk being out of status with the USCIS, which may subject you to deportation.

If you are transferring to Strayer University from another post-secondary educational institution, you may be eligible to receive transfer credit or advanced standing in our degree and diploma programs if your work at the other institution is appropriate. You may also be eligible to receive credit for life/work experience. If we confirm that your learning experience is comparable to the content of a specific course, you will be granted a certain number of transfer credits.

Please contact your admissions officer for further information about the transfer process.
