New Jersey Vaccination Requirements
Strayer University must comply with various state health and immunization standards that require students to provide proof of proper immunization.
The State of New Jersey requires that entering students at Strayer University provide evidence that they have received the following 3 vaccinations:
- Measles - 2 doses of live measles vaccine administered after 1968
- Mumps – 1 dose of live mumps vaccine
- Rubella – 1 dose of live rubella vaccine
Most people born in the United States after 1968 will have received these vaccinations as part of their regular childhood immunizations. Some students do not need to receive the vaccines. The following categories of students do NOT need to receive the vaccines:
- Students born before 1957
- Student who are not enrolled in a program leading to a degree (i.e. NDNP)
- Students who will take ALL of their classes online
- Students with medical problems who cannot receive vaccinations
- Students who object to vaccinations on religious grounds
In addition to the above required vaccinations, New Jersey also requires that ALL Strayer University students receive information about meningococcal meningitis and the availability of the meningococcal meningitis vaccine. Strayer University students do not need to receive the meningococcal vaccination prior to enrollment but they must fill out a form (below) for statistical purposes indicating that they have read the information and indicating whether they have previously received the vaccine, received the vaccine after receiving the information about the vaccine or have not received the vaccine.
