GEORGE GREEN (MED ’19), a veteran of the Korean War, earned his master’s degree at the age of 90, and celebrated at at the Baltimore commencement ceremony.

RENEISHA HOBBS (MSHR ’17), an Auburn women’s basketball letter-winner and member of the 2009 SEC Championship team, has joined the Auburn women’s basketball program as special assistant to the head coach.
TONYA JOHNSON (MSAC ’17) is deputy chief financial officer and director of the Office of Financial Management for the Department of the Interior.
KATHLEEN KERR (BSCIS) has been appointed director of Organizational Development & Training by workers’ compensation specialist The MEMIC Group.
JR LUNA (MBA STUDENT) is vice president and general manager of Florida Mobility at AT&T, overseeing the performance of 125 company-owned stores.
HEATHER RAINES (MSAC ’02) was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Provectus Biopharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing a new class of drugs for oncology and dermatology.
ALAN WEAKLEY (BSCIS ’94) has been appointed president of public sector business at APTIM.
JILL WHISONANT (BBA ’12) is vice president and manager of the Charleston branch of CresCom Bank.

Alumni Spotlight
Yolande Smith (BSIS ’02, MBA ’04) was appointed as the Grenada Ambassador to the United States and the Organization of American States.
“The focus of the government is to build resilience across all sectors in an effort to transform our economy: agricultural sector, tourism sector, education, health, services, even fiscal resilience—getting our financial house in order so that we can save for the proverbial rainy day.”
On education, she says much is being done “to make sure that there is a technical and vocational component in our curriculum to engage a number of our young people who are passionate about textiles, mechanics, industrial arts, and technical drawing.”
